Dr. Mike Stone has held academic appointments at Harvard Medical School and UCSF, and has received several national awards for education, innovation and leadership in emergency medicine. He has spent the bulk of his career focusing on educating students, trainees and colleagues on the use of point-of-care ultrasound, with a special interest in ultrasound-guided procedures and injections as well as development and implementation of asynchronous online educational techniques. He is a co-creator of the Ultrasound Leadership Academy, a non-profit ultrasound education company that has trained providers worldwide.
Mike is obsessed with self-hacking and peak performance, with a deep interest in the effects of fasting and nutrition on longevity and cognitive function. He is currently focused on knowledge translation for healthcare practitioners, striving to empower practitioners with practical techniques to competently construct strategies and tactics for their patients' health optimization. He is currently practicing in Portland, Oregon where he lives with his wife and 2 children.
